There are many
reasons for choosing a holiday like this.
All kinds of guests in terms of professions and
nationalities have come to visit me to date. All of them
found a smile and the warm hospitality of my region awaiting
them; all of them appreciated the peace and quiet and small
and large ancestral gestures of the faming civilisations of
old the trulli and cummerse, the miles of dry walls that
retain the centuries-old strength of the myriad olive trees,
in their sparkling green and silver guise.
The colours, the food, the smiles, the gestures, a great
canvas whose beauty is enhanced in the eyes of our guests,
who help us maintain this part of unforgotten southern
Italy.
The real satisfaction for someone like myself, who has
dedicated himself passionately to the philological recovery
of these old houses, is to convey emotions to my guests;
when in the eyes of those who are leaving I notice a touch
of regret, then I realise that the real magic of the trulli
consists in touching the deepest strings of our hearts and
representing a chance for us to rediscover something of that
Romanticism and lightheartedness lost in the chaos of modern
life.
